mic & instrument pre-amps
description

In addition to guitar amplifier systms designed for the recording studio, we also offer a line of microphone pre-amps to complement them. All the pre-amps are of the vacuum tube type and have the same point to point wiring construction used in the guitar amplifiers. Probably the most important component in a microphone pre-amp is the input transformer. The units shown here are built with either Lundahl or Jensen transformers, and for my ears these are some of the best that are available.

All the basic pre-amps units come with an unbalanced high impedence input, a balanced microphone input, and a balanced low impedence output. There is one volume control and on some units come with a tone control that can be switched out of the signal path if necessary. The tone control is especially useful when using one of these units as an instrument pre-amp on stage. Acoustic instruments with piezoelectric pickups sound great even if the instrument doesn't have an onboard pre-amp.

These pre-amps are available either as seen in the photos with a beautiful bloodwood base or as two channel rack-mounted unit. Either way I think you'll be pleased.
